She learns the house was once owned by an artist who died under mysterious circumstances. She meets the artist and eventually falls in love with him. It has been two years since Bobby and Sue Ellen Ewing took over control of Ewing Oil. Although J.R. is successfully managing a large oil conglomerate, he wants to once again own his father's company. When he discovers that Ray Krebbs' land, which is heavily mortgaged, has undiscovered oil on it, he knows that if he plays his cards right, he can purchase the land and have enough money to regain control of Ewing Oil. But his business rival Carter McKay also has his eyes on Ray's property, and may soon join Bobby and Sue Ellen as an executive at Ewing Oil. Both parties hatch schemes in order to get what they want.

The world was exactly like ours EXCEPT that women were the dominate gender. Women were the captains of industry and men were household workers, secretaries and waiters trying to attract attention with their sexuality. To add some additional twists to that twist there were characters into dominance/submission, a woman who had been a man (played by Linda Gray) and, of course, women CEOs having affairs with their secretaries.     

Dallas    *    
Popular evening 'soap-opera' style television drama. The show was set in Dallas and chronicled the exploits of wealthy Texas oil millionaires. Many of the plots revolved around shady business dealings and dysfunctional family dynamics.

Models, Inc.  (1994)
Spin-off to Melrose Place transplanting Amanda Woodward's mother Hillary Michaels to this show. Set in Los Angeles, it revolved around Hillary's company Models, Inc and the employees including alcoholic Sarah Owens and bitchy Julie Dante. Mid-season the show was retooled adding to the cast African-American Cynthia and mysterious nightclub owner Adam Louder who was attempting to get rid of his scheming ex-wife Grayson.
