Bette Davis Speaks

Bette Davis Speaks

Bette Davis Speaks" is a hilarious, deliciously bitchy evening of the hard earned wisdom and delightfully acerbic wit of one of the most iconic movie stars in the history of motion pictures. For twenty years journalist Boze Hadleigh interviewed the Hollywood legend and the result was a gossipy, wise, funny and ultimately moving, guilty pleasure known as "Bette Davis Speaks." That play has now been adapted for the stage by playwright and screenwriter Dan Gordon. From Miss Davis' famous feud with Joan Crawford ("I did not feud with her. I hated her guts. But we did not feud at all. We got along just like the sisters we played in 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.' The truth is the best time I ever had in my career was pushing her down those stairs") ... To her delightfully wicked comments on her contemporaries ("Clark Gable? Supposedly his wife once said that if he had one inch less he would have been the Queen of Hollywood instead of the King. Ronald Reagan? He wasn't a star, he made movies. But then so did Hop Along Cassidy. Bogie? He had good taste, especially in women. Tallulah Bankhead? She had good taste in women too. Clara Bow? I don't want to call her a slut, but I don't know what else to say.")  "Bette Davis Speaks" is one of the most delightful evenings you will spend in the theater this year. "Bettie Davis Speaks" is one guilty pleasure you can't afford to miss.

The play starred Linda and Kathleen Noone, and ran from Jan. 27, 2011 to Feb. 20, 2011 at the Indian Wells Theater, located at 37-500 Cook Street, Palm Desert, CA 92211. For more information, please call (760) 341-6909 or visit the Palm Desert Campus website.

The Flight of the Swan

Linda recently filmed this movie in Greece in the role of Alexis' Mother, which had its worked premiere Jan. 20, 2011 in Athens. It is scheduled for release sometime in 2011. Check back for its release dates.

Synopsis: Alexis is an explosive personality, passionate about life, humanity, nature, love and beauty. That is until the breakneck rhythm, intensity, stress and convolutions of career and economic success shatter him, alienating him from everyone and everything he loves: even his children and his soul mate Maria. Alexis is jolted back to reality when the unbridled greed of the multinational conglomerate his company is involved in causes an unprecedented ecological catastrophe costing many human lives. The multinational's Golden Boy suddenly realizes that he is nothing more than a cog in the machine he had fought so passionately against in his youth. He is determined to rediscover himself, to reclaim his soul, to rebuild the dream with Maria - but he is completely trapped. He is caught in a web of intrigue that tightens like a vice driving him to an inevitably lethal conflict with the conglomerate. The story quickly evolves into a nerve rending adventure with driving action, relentless conflicts, unexpected reversals, insurmountable dilemmas and volatile internal pressures all leading to the triumph of love, friendship, beauty and life.

A Very Mary Christmas

A Very Mary Christmas is the story of pregnant young Mary, who's had all the trappings of an upscale life, but it's only when she finds herself in a small New Mexico town, in a down-trodden trailer park, that she learns the real meaning of love, sacrifice and family. Dan Gordon (screenwriter of Wyatt Earp and The Hurricane) marks his directorial debut with this effervescent dramedy.

This is the kind of film that you will want to take your family to. A movie where grandparents want to take grandchildren, when parents want to take the kids and when families want to share a motion picture experience, which neither insults them, nor offends them, and which champions the values they and their families hold dear.

The cast in A Very Mary Christmas is prestigiously solid and includes Academy Award winner Cloris Leachman; Academy Award nominee Elliot Gould; Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Lanie Kazan; Emmy nominated, Golden Globe winner and German Bambi award winner (German Oscar) Linda Gray; three time Golden Globe award winner and four time People’s Choice award winner Cybil Shepard; comedian Fred Willard, instantly recognizable from the indie feature hits “Best in Show,” “Mighty Wind,” and “For Your Consideration;” Olesya Rulin co-star of all three “High School Musical” movies; Gene Simmons whose Kiss fans alone make up a nearly rabid demographic; and Della Reese, star of arguably the most popular television show in history amongst Christian church going audiences.
